Data collection with the City Sight App begins with user authentication. Once authenticated, the user can start a capturing session using the app. The user simply needs to position their phone in a way that allows the camera to capture their surroundings.
While a session in ongoing, the user can choose to either keep the app on the foreground or use it on the background.
While on the background the app keeps taking pictures and keep the user informed on how many photos were made through a constant notification. So that he can at any time check the progress or stop the capturing session.
The photos collected are stored locally on the phone on an encrypted format. Each session has a unique encryption key that is generated when the session starts and that encrypts all the data captured during the said session. The data is then safe and can only be decrypted on our servers.
The users have freedom to choose how and when the data is synced. They can configure between all the time or only when WIFI is available. Allowing them to save on data network.
